How to Measure Your Rack for Voltra Mounts
Three measurements get you to the correct pin collection — or to Custom Quotes if your rack is outside the standard catalog.
- Upright / tube size
- Hole / pin diameter (1" vs 5/8")
- Hole spacing (dual-pin or bolt-on)
Tools: a tape measure, calipers if you have them, or a known push / mag pin as a go / no-go check. Then run the fit checker with your numbers.
Voltra Mounts is an independent, privately owned company with no affiliation or connection with Beyond Power or its parent company. Our mounts are built for the Beyond Power VOLTRA I for individuals using various manufacturers’ 3×3 power racks.
What you’re measuring (the triad)
| Measurement | What it decides |
|---|---|
| Upright / tube | Whether you are in the main true 3×3 catalog, a pad-fit upright option, Flat Foot, or Custom Quotes |
| Hole / pin diameter | 1" vs 5/8" collection — the critical SKU split |
| Hole spacing | Dual-pin alignment or bolt-on pattern (for example Simple Upright at 6" centers) |
Step 1: Measure upright (tube)
True 3×3 (default)
Measure the outside width of the upright face the mount will clamp. If it is a standard true 3×3 imperial tube, you are in the main catalog.
Other rectangular sizes (3×2, 2×3, 2×2, and similar)
Our mount designs stay the same. Fit for other upright sizes comes from sized chafe pads when you pick that option. On eligible products, you must choose the size that matches — pads do not auto-detect.
Flat Foot / low-profile tubing
About 2.0″–2.3″ Flat Foot–style tubing points to the Evolver Flat Foot mount (typically 5/8" pin), not a standard-height 3×3 pin mount. Check that product page if your tube is Flat Foot–style.
Metric / 75 mm
Metric 75 mm uprights are not automatically the same as imperial 3×3. Some dual-pin listings note fit on true 3×3 and 75 mm, and offer a dedicated 5/8" Hole (75 mm Rack) option — measure and pick carefully. When in doubt, email Support@voltramounts.com or use Custom Quotes.
Then: Fit checker — Step 1
Step 2: Measure hole size (1" vs 5/8")
Best methods (in order)
- Read the size marked on the push / mag pin you already use (if it is labeled).
- Use calipers across the hole diameter.
- Go / no-go with a known pin: a correct pin seats cleanly in a matching hole. Do not force a pin that binds or feels wrong.
- Check the rack maker’s spec sheet, then spot-check on your upright — production tolerances exist.
Route after you know the diameter
| Diameter | Shop |
|---|---|
| 1" | 1" 3×3 mounts for VOLTRA I |
| 5/8" | 5/8" push-pin mounts |
Then: Fit checker — Step 2
Step 3: Measure hole spacing (dual-pin & bolt-on)
Dual-pin / two-hole mounts
Measure from the top edge of one hole to the top edge of the next hole the mount will use. That equals center-to-center and is usually more precise because you have a hard edge to land the tape on. Compare that number to the spacing shown on the specific product page, or ask Support before you order. There is no single universal dual-pin spacing published here.
Bolt-on example (Simple Upright)
On the live Simple Upright listing, spacing between bolt holes is 6". Two bolts are required; bolts are not included. DIY Dock is included only when that checkout option is selected.
Then: Fit checker — Step 3
Patterns explained: Power rack hole spacing (Westside vs 2", full 1", 3", metric notes).
After it arrives: play, pins, and the shim kit
Out-of-box fit is fine for most true 3×3 racks on the correct pin size. The shim kit fine-tunes remaining play (side and base shims; stackable). Use the pin you will train with when you check play — different manufacturers’ mag pins can change how the mount feels.
Full steps: Shim kit installation.
Small play on a correct pin size is often normal. Wrong pin diameter is not a shim fix — rematch 1" vs 5/8" and shop the right collection.
Separately: the DIY Dock is the VOLTRA I seating interface. Include it at checkout if you do not already have one. Install help: DIY Dock installation.
Special measure notes
- Special measuring note — drop mounts: each drop mount lists a specific drop distance in its specs. Measure the free space under your chosen pin height and compare it to that product’s drop specification so you have clearance.
- Rogue T-Bar Row Offset Drop: Built for the Rogue T-Bar Row stand as a deep-offset 1" single-pin mount. If you plan to use a similar geometry on another 1" 3×3 rack, still measure tube and hole first.
- Drop / Omni / doubler geometry: Confirm pin size first, then choose style from the drop, Omni, or doubler collections.
- Non-rack / wall / facility: Use Custom Quotes.
Product-specific clearance notes (for example recommended mag-pin length on certain drop mounts) stay on those product pages.

FAQ
How do I know if my rack needs 5/8" or 1" Voltra mounts?
Measure hole diameter or match your existing push pin. Shop that Hole Size. Voltra mounts do not include the pin.
How do I measure power rack hole size?
Use calipers across the hole, or identify the labeled pin you already use. Confirm against the rack maker’s spec, then spot-check on your upright.
How do I measure my hole spacing?
Measure from the top edge of one hole to the top edge of the next hole the mount will use. That equals center-to-center and is usually more precise because you have a hard edge to land the tape on. Match that number to the dual-pin spacing on the product page (or to bolt-on patterns like Simple Upright at 6″).
Will a Voltra mount fit a metric 3×3 / 75 mm upright?
Default is true imperial 3×3. Shims help with play. Check dedicated 75 mm options where offered (for example Dual Pin) or use Custom Quotes.
What’s the difference between measuring for pin mounts vs bolt-on?
Not much for measuring. Both need hole diameter and hole spacing (center-to-center, or top edge to top edge). Pin mounts use those holes with a push pin; bolt-ons use them with bolts on a matching pattern — for example Simple Upright at 6″ centers. Match the numbers to the product page either way.
My mount has a little play — did I measure wrong?
Small play on a correct pin size is often normal; use the included shim kit. Wrong pin diameter is not a shim fix — rematch 1" vs 5/8".
Does measuring replace buying a DIY Dock?
No. Measuring gets the rack fit right. The DIY Dock is the VOLTRA I seating interface — include it at checkout if you do not already have one.
